TLDR

I worked as lead UI & UX designer on Mighty Kingdom’s Hyper Rush. An unreleased speed-running title for PC.

UI Design

As UI lead my role was to take ownership of the style direction. In collaboration with the art team we established a colourful, futuristic art style that took inspiration from anime.

Style Development

All elements of the UI needed to be created and styled to help form the backbone of a new design system. Elements were created to be reusable in shops, promotions or inventory views.

Font Selection

Fonts were chosen for their versatility and readability. Neuzeit Grotesk was selected for its bold and readable forms, as well as its strong localisation capabilities. Hyper Wave was chosen as a supplementary font to help add character by introducing a street culture element.

Character Shop Panels

These character panels highlight a character’s rarity and price, ensuring that accessibility is being considered with the use of the rarity style cut-out in the bottom right. This helps differentiate rarity using colour as well as iconography.

Modals and System UI

As the project was started from scratch, every single UI element needed to be created including modal styling, level up panels, player avatars, name plates and progress bars.

UX Design

Leading the UX design team, my role was to ensure the quality of our play testing as well as helping the team make data-based decisions.

Talk to me about my other UI projects

I have worked on 5 game titles in the last 3 years, however due to privacy agreements and NDAs I am only able to show a very small amount of those publicly. But it doesn’t mean I can’t discuss the skills I used to create those as well as talk with you about the scope and range of projects I have worked on. Get in touch and we can chat more!
